Create TheLAB is led by founder Mykel Reto, whose production experience spans live entertainment, public events, and brand environments. Our production team comes together around each project—producers, technical leads and specialist crews matched to the scope.
Recent work includes custom LED environments for McDonald’s, projection mapping for the Marvel × Insomniac Spider-Man 2 launch, technical production for the LA28 Olympic Flag Ceremony, and a current three-year Los Angeles Public Library audiovisual services contract covering Central Library and 72 branches. Based in Torrance. Ready to build wherever the moment takes us.
Our origin: twelve years running our own venue
For 12 years, we owned a venue. We weren’t passing through for a load-in. We lived with the lighting, the sound, the flow of the room, and the expectations of every guest who walked through the door.
That history includes hosting Snoop Dogg’s birthday and providing the venue, LED walls, and lighting support for MelodyVR’s Live from LA series. Hundreds of events—Hawthorne State of the City addresses, election nights, American Black Film Festival programming, and livestreams—taught us to think beyond the stage and design the whole experience.
